Andong Zheng was born in Hefei, China in 1992. He graduated from Tongji University with a Bachelor of Engineering in 2016. He is currently pursuing an MFA degree in photography at Rhode Island School of Design.
Zheng’s work focuses on a range of issues concerning the alteration of the social landscape, self-identity, and cultural integration in the context of globalization. Influenced by his engineering training, Zheng regards photography as a kind of gaze, a compensation for the inherent deficiencies in engineering and technology, an entrance to perceive the world differently, as well as a more intuitive and subtle language.
Zheng now lives and works in Providence, United States.
